  1. REMINDERPRO HELP: SOUNDS

  3. Every reminder can have a sound associated with it that is played when the reminder is displayed. While a new sound can be recorded for each new reminder, it is also possible to have a list of already created sounds that can be used.

ReminderPro has four built-in sounds for use with reminders. You can also add your own sounds to the list of available sounds. Sounds can be imported from Macintosh Finder sound files or can be recorded using a microphone. ReminderPro allows you to have up to 100 sounds in the list. Every sound has a name that can be up to 63 characters long.

  7. The Sounds window, titled 窶彝eminder Sounds窶, shows the list of sounds available for use in reminders. It also provides you with the interface for adding and deleting sounds to the list. To access the Sounds window, select 窶彜ounds窶 from the 窶廚ustomize窶 menu.

  9. The four built-in sounds in ReminderPro cannot be deleted. These appear in bold text in the Sounds window.

  11. Importing a sound from a Finder sound file

  13. Click 窶廬mport Sound窶 in the Sounds window to import a sound from a Finder sound file. You will be presented with a file selection dialog, in which you can select the Finder sound file from which you want the sound imported.

  15. If your version of the system software allows it, you can also simply drag and drop one or more Finder sound files on the Sounds window for the sounds to be imported.

  17. When a sound is imported from a file, it gets the name of the file.

  19. Pasting sounds from the clipboard

  21. You can also copy sound resources from other applications or documents and then paste them into the Sounds window using the clipboard.

  25. Click 窶彝ecord Sound窶 in the Sounds window to record a sound using a microphone. After you record a sound, you will be asked to enter a name for the sound. A sound name can be up to 63 characters long. If you supply a longer name, it will be truncated.

You can change the name of any sound you create. To do so, select the sound and click 窶彝ename Sound窶 in the Sounds window. You will be asked for a another name for the sound. A sound name can be up to 63 characters long. It does not need to be unique. If you supply a longer name, it will be truncated.

  31. Deleting a sound

  33. To delete a sound, simply select it in the Sounds window and then do one of the following:
  34. 窶｢ Hit the delete key.
  35. 窶｢ Click the trash icon in the Sounds window.
  36. 窶｢ Select 窶廚lear窶 from the 窶廢dit窶 menu.

  38. Whenever you delete a sound, ReminderPro asks you to confirm the deletion. To bypass this confirmation, hold down the option key down and then delete the sound. Note that the built-in sounds cannot be deleted.

  40. Playing a sound in the Sounds window

  42. To play any sound in the Sounds window, simply double-click it.

  44. Sounds window color and font

  46. You can change the color and font of the names of sounds appearing in the list in the Sounds window.

  48. To change the color, click the color button. To revert to the default color used by ReminderPro, hold the option key down while clicking the color button.

  50. To change the font, click the font button. To revert to the default font used by ReminderPro, hold the option key down while clicking the font button.
